It concerns me that they don't seem to understand avoidance is legal.

They're just banking on joe public being too stupid to know what tax avoidance means, and sadly they're probably rightSocialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment

The article even mentions fining avoiders which is of course a bit daft.Comment

Sadly I think whoever wins the election will get HMRC to hammer the self employed. There are simply so many of us now that we are a significant target.

•Self-employment higher than at any point over past 40 years
•Rise in total employment since 2008 predominantly among the self-employed
•Rise predominately down to fewer people leaving self-employment than in the past
•The number of over 65s who are self-employed has more than doubled in the past 5 years to reach nearly half a million
•Self-employed workers tend to be older than employees and are more likely to work higher (over 45) or lower (8 or less) hours
•The number of women in self-employment is increasing at a faster rate than the number of men (although men still dominate self employment)
•The most common roles are working in construction and taxi driving and in recent years there have been increases in management consultants
•Average income from self-employment fallen by 22% since 2008/09Comment

* Citizens Income - every citizen gets a "unconditional, non-withdrawable income payable to each individual as a right of citizenship. It will not be subject to means testing and there will be no requirement to be either working or actively seeking work."
What would be the effect of introducing that with the right of free movement within the EU I wonder?
* The fact they are totally anti-children - "To encourage debate as to how sustainable lifestyles can be developed to provide meaningful and satisfying lives with or without children."
* Defence- "On inspection, there is little or no threat of direct invasion of the UK by any nation. Commitment to a large standing army, a navy of large warships around our coastline, squadrons of fighter planes and a cripplingly expensive missile defence system is therefore unnecessary."
The quotes are all taken directly from their website. You should read it for a few minutes. It's hilarious. I particularly liked.
"Terrorism is an extremely loaded term, ... A Green government, by implementing principles laid out elsewhere in this manifesto, particularly those of self-determination and non-interventionist foreign policies, would seek to overcome the unjust divisions within our global and domestic society and address the desperate motivations that lie behind many atrocities labelled "terrorist".Comment

Everything minor parties say is a lie - just ask the Liberal Democrats (or what is left of them after this election )"You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
