I'll bet no-one has ever gone to an interview to be told by the client that they're system is, in fact, quite boring, the work is easy, its quiet most of the time, and they don't care if you're out of the door by 4pm every day!

Never happens. Think some clients really lay it on thick even if its not true just to see how contractors react. Weird.

It's probably because unless permie lower ranking staff lay it on thick with senior management, who hold the purse strings, they don't get anything.

Yeh. This is true.

I do think some clients try and make it out as worse than it is just to scare off what they see as the unflexible contractors or the money-grabbers. i.e. they dont want 9-5 even though, when you get there thats what it is.

To be fair this wasn't client specific at all just a general observation...
