Asked for an extension and got fired!

<See my previous threads about company environment>

8 weeks left on the contract and i suggest to the agency that everything is going ok and are we going to be looking to renew?

Agency replies positively and starts negotiations with the head of department.

Enter the project manager and team leader with whom had previous good relations, but due to current position on not wanting to provide any dodgy timesheets, the relationship has been strained.

…and received 4 weeks’ notice yesterday, with a removal today (Iron Mountain box, security). Ok so I didn’t help things by accusing the team leader and project manager of screwing me over with a load of txt messages the Monday night.

So job hunting for a new contract after 18mths at the same gig!

Keep it all in one thread pls....it's not good form to make people go looking for the juicy bits in another thread. Keep it all in one place for continuity.

      You didn't get fired FFS

Maybe the fact you don't seem to understand your relationship with your client contributed to you being binned. HTH

The writing was on the wall long ago......

So in your next interview when they give you a hypothetical scenario vis.

You are in a building, it's on fire, the brigade are outside, the alarm has been going off for a half hour, do you run away when your first limb gets singed or do you wait and burn.....?

I hope you learned your lesson well. TBH I cannot see why anyone with more than 2 brain cells would have stayed AFTER your first post lol. The situation is not new. It's not tupiley, you are because you failed to heed all of the warnings and got burned.

Live and learn for your next role - as a contractor keep your head down and nose clean (metaphorically speaking)...

Only ever had one contract that turned really sour; I'd been there 14 months. The "new management" and I didn't see eye-to-eye. I was asked to leave immediately after one of our "management meetings."

My advice: quickly put it behind you and move on. Life is far too short. One week into a new gig. and you'll feel like a new man.

                All the best.

OK, so presuming this is not a troll....

What your manager proposed amounts to fraud against the client company and if you go along with it then you are party to that fraud. This is a very, very dangerous situation where you could face criminal charges. If you are not a EU national then you could have your work permit revoked.

I would have secretly recorded the conversation for "insurance" purposes where I discussed exactly what they were proposing to do and then flatly refused to be party to the fraud.

Like nomadd says - get the hell out of there and don't EVER, EVER cross the line into criminal behaviour.

As I said in the other thread and will repeat here:

In response to you and all the others here, Im a bit late to this, but I would say to the OP, as well as submitting honest timesheets, print out an event viewer of his work PC. That way, if the tulip hits the fan and the police lay out his timesheets if someone tries to accuse him, he can then say, here is proof of when my work PC was started up and shut down, backing up my submitted hours.

That is what I would do in this situation. One piece of evidence is never enough. You need to be smart and back up that evidence to make it airtight. Saving receipts, like a petrol one on the way home is always good practise for a contractor for expenses, but in this case, can further prove you left work when you said you did.

As someone else said, far easier for you to keep it in one thread. Personally I would never have posted any of this at all, as keeping quiet about fraud is a crime as well.
