You shouldn't have told your company that you wanted to work in Poland. You were allowed by them to work remotely so why did you tell them? If it's just for a couple of weeks or a limited amount of time during the year simply pretend to work from home in the UK and go to Poland. If they are very strict you might be worried about IP tracking so you can consider the possibility to use a VPN.
