    Seed Enterprise Investment Schemes

Was searching the budget report for mention of changes to EIS or VCTs and came across Seed Enterprise Investment Schemes (SEIS) which offer a 50% income tax relief.

I know they're obviously extremely risky but is anyone else considering investing like this? Where does one find such a company?

Try some of the Dragon's Den cast offs?

Perhaps someone will set up a means to match each side up, perhaps an idea for Plan B?
"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." Cicero

Hmm.. I would have thought the dragons have turned them down for very good reasons!

Looks like someone beat you on the plan B idea...

I noticed SEIS in the budget too and wondered what they were about.

Looks like they are new for the 12/13 tax year - HMRC link

It'll be interesting to see what products the existing EIS/VCT providers will be offering next year. I expect they'll do something as the 50% is a good selling point. SEIS looks like it is for much smaller companies though, so risks are clearly higher and may not scale well to a product for the bigger providers.
