I've heard nothing since, and now that HMRC have got all the info they requested, I think they should be in a reasonable position to make a judgement on my tax position. I don't want to wait indefinitely for a retrospective change to the law which will clobber me at some point in the future, so I'm seriously contemplating asking HMRC to issue a closure notice. Has anyone got any advice to offer on this, or had any experience of doing so?
HMRC will not respond to your request with anything helpful.

You will need to apply to the Tax Court and ask for Closure. The form can be found here:

Frankly, you have nothing to lose. It might cause HMRC to speed up the closure of the scheme you were using - but it will make it more difficult for them to use retrospeciton on you.
There's an elephant wondering around here...

just worried it opens up a second front for MTM ... (dont think they can retro the loan scheme on this one ...assuming you got out before the law changed)

so the longer it goes on the better for my flexible mortgage

that said I think its worth formally writing the the revenue and chasing them for a decision/action on this ...

maybe all the loan scheme punters via MTM should meet up and do a "class action" ..or group letter to do this >?

Based on the previous, has anyone made an assessment of the Breeze Wealth offering? It's advertised on this site but makes some rather impressive 'guarantees' and an indemnity unwritten by Lloyds of London should brown stuff hit the fan.

Mod note: I've deleted your other post as I'm not convinced that you're real (too much potential advertising in that post).

If you're not, apologies - this post is enough to get you started..

Really? I've never seen it advertised on this site...

Me neither, I think the point he is making is that he has advertised it now...

And since it's 'unwritten' by Lloyds it's obviously worth the paper it's written on

They are the same people that used to run another scheme that received some negative coverage on a previous thread.
