Right Im bored of doing nothing, have just sent an email to the two guys in HMRC GSI:

martin.brooks@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
simon.davis@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk

These as the contacts listed at the bottom of the legilsation note for contact. Ive asked how they envisage HMRC will enforce any liability, on the scheme promoter or user, when the liability will be back dated too etc etc.....

Im also going to write an email to Jane Kennedy pretty much saying the same thing. I cant just sit around and do nothing, its driving me mad...Im considering getting an E- pettition together too, Im happy to create it if someone else provides the max 1000 word summary, writing isnt necessarily my best skill!

I think we as a group should do something....!

One of the points raised by Jane Kennedy was that we cannot claim we did not know that what we was doing was wrong.

I disagree.

I went to a registered tax 'expert' for advice and Montp sold me the scheme as being 100% above board and what 'every rich person uses'. In fact, I was told that half of the premiership footballs use the scheme - obivously a lie or I'm sure it would have hit the papers.

You should point out that if they had never implemented IR35 all this would have been avoided.

Anyone on here with dynamic ip address? I have a mass email sender - someone could send several million emails to those addresses!

Any idea where they work? Quick drying cement down their drains?

Seriously - we cannot do much else except wait.

Default Warr & Co FAQ

Has anyone read this?

http://www.bn66.co.uk/bn66-solution-...-questions.htm

This looks very risky to me. If you embark on this path it doesn't sound like there is any way back.

Think carefully before you leap!

Yes, I have drawn it to their attention. They thought this bit was really funny:

Q: Can this backfire on me?
A: Yes, in very limited circumstances. This will happen if:

(a) HMRC accept your income was from employment;
(b) They are able to assess you and not the employer for PAYE;
(c) The retrospective effect of Clause 55 is thrown out in a judicial review; and
(d) HMRC eventually fail in the House of Lords to show that pre-existing legislation is sufficient to defect the scheme.

Like me, I think they regard the whole thing as a bit of a joke, and they aren't wasting any time on it.

Default Can I just say a special hello to our "friends"

from HMRC Special Investigations, who are apparently regular readers of this forum.

Go smalldog!

Presumably once the FB becomes law and we get our bill from HMRC...we will be opening ourselves up for penalties in the event of a failed case by Montp.

Reckon we can get them to commit to covering any penalties if they advise us not to pay the bill?
