Well having just got back from Glastonbury Im in a "Its only money" kind of mood. Would rather not pay it, but if I have to then not gonna kill me...Takes more than that to knock down a smalldog

guess Ive been having too many funny fags over the last 4 days
This is my problem with Mr Brannigan and chums - they dont want to be courteous. They want to bully. I am well used to making things a tad unpleasant for people like that. But at the moment montp have the upper hand. If montp lose I am prepared to share my methods with anyone provided I know who they are. Lets have some fun!

Really I should seek professional help - but there we go.

He's the bloke from HMRC who is leading the enquiry. All the letters I've received over the past few years have been signed by him. Also, he was the one that MontP met up with a few weeks ago.

He has played alot of dirty tricks - but we are still winning.

At the moment it is still business.

Well that is very much my view. And I have been through this before and am prepared to organize and pass on my knowledge.

But we are a very long way from that.

IMO montpelier said they would fight this all the way - they have done so far and look keen to see this through. Alot of money rides on them winning - and their international reputation.

There were some cases due to go before the commissionaires - HMRC chickened out. they knew they would lose. bn66 came instead. nothing wrong with that except applying retrospectively. I reckon the courts will throw that out.

On the downside montp are not very communicative(they are less communicative than Mr Brannigan). And it will take years to sort - I reckon 2 years minimum. And you have to put up with the HMRC bully boy harrassment and abuse.

That is all my opinion. Criticism welcome - I know others will not agree!

                    BTW hello again Mr Brannigan

I'm with Brillo. Unlike Jones, Warr & Co who buckled at the first hirdle, MontP stood firm for 5 long years and forced HMRC to blink first. Afraid to risk litigation, they have resorted to some decidedly dodgy legislation. They may feel they've got the upper hand at the moment but they haven't had to defend their record in public yet. All they've done up to now is write snotty letters.

I've thought long and hard about this and I am convinced our best chance is to all stick together behind MontP. They may be cr*p at communicating but they haven't let us down so far. I think they deserve a chance to see it through to the end.
