The memory spec is 200 Pin 1.8v DDR2 PC2-5300 SoDimm

I had the same issue with my desktop ram (ocz ddr2), had to force it to 2.0v otherwise it would beep more often than not.

Willing to bet that is the cause

No it's an emachines e430 pos. which I believe to be a rebadged acer
