Had a tulipe Netgear modem/router then replaced it with a DrayTek Vigor2710n nearly 2 years since, the DrayTek has been rock solid reliable with a mixture of Linux and WIndows XP/7 both wired and wireless.

Alternative router to crappy Netgear WNDR3700 ?

TBH, most routers are either tulipe or not the problem. More often than not, its the wireless card in the laptop that is causing the issue regarding non connection.
The routers I've mentioned are recommended by xilo admins.Comment
