Yes I know it nots free!!!
But I am an UltraEdit convert and they also publish Ultra Compare (UltraEdit Text Editor | UltraCompare file compare | UEStudio | UltraSentry).Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.Comment

Another vote for Beyond Compare - I use it mainly for comparing binary files but it does all sorts of stuff.Comment
