Second Tier Supplier Verbally Offering Contract but Stalling on Day Rate
Had an interview with end client who pretty much offered me the gig at the end of the interview although she said she wanted to make a decision that day (the Friday) as she will be off on the Monday and Tuesday. Problem is that their preferred supplier farmed recruitment for the job to another supplier,...Last edited by ziggystardust; 14 May 2019, 09:52.

Impact of Budget 2016
Is anyone thinking of raising their contract rates to lessen the impact of the new dividend tax setup?

Boomed
On a Thursday about a month ago I was informed that due to budget restrictions they could not keep me on any longer.
I start conjuring up plans for being idle for one or two or three months.
On Friday the day after a different part of the organisation calls and asks for my availability...

Boomed +++ (Mega Ultra Ballistic Nuclear boom)
Finishing contract at the end of the month and going straight onto another one with an even higher rate and about 30 mins closer to home. There will be occasional travel to london covered by the clientco - something I am actually quite excited about as it means I can work in the financial...

Boomed!

Where do I sign up!

Boomed++

Awaiting client response.

Boomed Butti
8 miles from home, 65% more than current gig. Happy. Something close to home suits at the moment with family situation to be honest.
Not main skill-set (which pays more) so being away from that for a little is a slight concern. And they've said plans are 3 months only until end of project...

How to negotiate a rate rise considering my situation?
I accepted a contract offer few months go with the rate of £300 which expires in 3 weeks time (my second contract).
The rate is quite low with regard to my 10 years experience in software development and 8-9 qualifications; MCPD, MCTS, etc..
The client is quite happy with...
