How Low Can You Go?
I know there must be loads of threads about this. With the current market as it is, I'd be interested to know how much percentage day rate drop or other previous deal breakers some of you have had to make recently in order to close that widening gap between time on the bench and securing a gig, and...

Should I charge different rates for consulting and web development (same client)
Hi everyone,
I've been working with a client and currently making our collaboration more formal with a new contract. I'll be providing consulting (architecture etc.) services and possibly some web development hours as well. Should I have 2 different rates for these two services or do you...

Consultancy MSA and IR35 Red Flags
Consultancy will be sending an MSA to sign and Associates letter to engage me to work with the end client for an outside IR35 gig. I have not encountered an MSA before or contracted via a consultancy, only agencies previously.
Interestingly they will not release details of the MSA until...Last edited by ziggystardust; 18 April 2022, 21:59.

Contract Outside IR35 but through Umbrella - Tax the same?
Possibly an obviously stupid question but asking it anyway as I have only contracted through an umbrella company once and that was inside IR35. Expiration Vs Termination - Termination Clauses Enforceable after Contract Expires?
Hey all,
I''m incorporated and contracting through an agency to a client.
The contract I signed with the agency specified a 12 month term for consultancy services to their client. That term is to complete in the next few days, the contract will then expire.
The contract...

Flat rate VAT - Telecom and IT consultancy difference
Hi,
I am working as a consultant in networking. My job responsibilities are network consulting, network security, pre/post-sales in networking and troubleshooting. Does networking fall under IT consultancy?. Or is it under telecom?. Telecom is currently charged at 12%, IT consultancy...

I provide diversified services - how to use this to my advantage?
I have just got started a 6 month contract and have a limited company. My contract passed a review with QDOS so I'm focusing on working practices, although it's only my 3rd week. I also design websites (which I pay domain and hosting costs for, as well as have the company website showing the work) and...
