Tax in UK

Hi,

Having lived in Europe for many years, am considering a return to the jolly old shores of riot-bound England

I really have no idea any more about tax on contracting in the UK. Let's say for a contract worth around 7K GBP per month, what would I expect to get in the hand after tax? Is there some general % that can be assumed?

Any recommended tax consultants?
