It got upped as I turned the mods to normal users and one of them could not send PMs any more as the mods had a higher PM limit that other site users. Have dropped it back down now to 300 - so still more than it was before.

Because you're being inundated with nerd flirting and need more space? If you keep them in your inbox, then the mods can read them without having to go to the database to see what was in there.
