    I have installed OpenVPN on a router, and it uses UDP to connect to a designated port, when I try to connect it says

    Code:
    Management: >State (random numbers) WAIT
    Quick google states to see if the firewall is open on that port, which first point of call I am trying to do

    Netcat is simpler and mostly likely already installed;

    # nc -zu 10.10.10.10 53
    Connection to 10.10.10.10 53 port [udp/domain] succeeded!

    ...to see if you have DNS connectivity. You'll also need TCP for DNS.....
