    if i don't encrypt the iv, it works, if i encrypt, it falls over. yet i successfully rebuild the iv from decrypt!!

    What's the exact error message? I had some problems in .NET with triple DES too and vaguely remember something like this happening.

    anyone used this to retrieve a key from the registry? i have a DPAPI encrypted key in the registry but when i try to retrieve it as a byte array for the IV for 3DES i get a length error...going grey and hairless
