How about this fecking wifi gadget:Originally posted by ratewhoreAnyone know of an extender I can use with a 3com officeconnect wifi router? I have 2 of these but you can't connect them together (or at least it doesn't seem to support it) and I want to extend my wifi network to the top floor...

you don't need a cable between the router and this one - a sort of wireless repeater.
I have tested one and works great, but the speed seems to go down about 40%...anyway..

3COM website has downloads for some which now include WDS. Might be appropriate for your model.Originally posted by ratewhoreAnyone know of an extender I can use with a 3com officeconnect wifi router? I expect it will halve your bandwidth though/

Then you need one of these - http://reviews.cnet.com/Hawking_HSB1...-31126286.html
Be aware that they might not be legal in this country and that they can interfere with other wireless devices (like baby monitors and cordless phones) so your neighbours may not be too happy.

'Ideal for LAN Parties'? Jeez...
Actually, I'm trying to avoid any cables whatsoever.

Two of these - http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...tml?NGR-WGE111 - with a long cable in between?
Take no notice of the word Game, that's just marketing speak. They allow a device with a wired only connection to get onto a wireless network. With two of them chained together you can bridge your wireless network.
