    If they already have a Nexus 7 just buy a 3g/4g dongle they can be had for 30 squids now.
    OTOH if you're happy to wait, get the new Nexus 7 with 3g built-in

    Yep it came out a few months after the original and only cost £30 extra, it might be worth looking at if they're happy with the original Nexus 7. Due to the release of the new version you'll more than likely be able to pick one up cheaply
