how easy to unlock Blackberry bold 9800?

Hi,
The missus has just cancelled the O2 contract on her blackberry bold 9800 and then realized that phone is locked when she put in a new virgin sim.

O2 says is will take 7days for the unlock code to come through .... which is way too long to wait.

it is possible to get unlock codes via ebay or market stalls all over the place?
