Just got a Sanyo one £330 (£200 off) from Curry’s. Really great much better than tape. A pack of four mini re-writeable DVDs were £19 also has SD RAM remote control etc etc. Take the move, copy from DVD to DVD or PC. Much less time messing around than DV tape.

do you definatly want DVD, or are you open to suggestions for DV or HD.

Been wading through forums, but it's trying to find the info that is useful is a slow process :-(

Deffo want DVD. This is so Mrs ASB can chuck the mini disc into the DVD player without having to bother dragging it onto PC and burning it. The alternative of plugging the camcorder straight into the telly is unlikely to happen too.

I plan to drag her out to the local shops on Wednesday so she can try a few.

Trying to sort the wheat from the chaff is a bit of a nightmare. So, I thought I'd try here since I'm sure there are quite a few of you with said devices.

What I need: Ability to use RW media, still photos (quality not greatly important). Ability to upload video to PC for potential editing/burning. Decent optical zoom.

Main use will be daughter in equestrian competitions, predominantly dressage, occasional night use under floodlight.

Don't want to spend very much (pref no more than 350).

Any sdpecific recommendations??
