Hi,
I played around a few years ago with mySQL and PHP, wasn't very impressed with them as tools but as they are free not bad value lol.
I've been on the bench a while and have an opportunity for some dev work but the client is already using the above on a CMS. Today, I installed the latest versions of each and myPHPAdmin etc and found them so unintuitive it was almost unreal. Worse than that, the wamp packages although smoothish to install were, in their raw state unuseable because of config errors and issues.
My question is, is it worth the headaches of going though all that multiple abortive installs and issue hunting just to get a stable installation or should I tell em to get real and install better dev environments?
Yeah I know I could just keep reminding myself 'day rate, day rate' but I'd like to add a bit of value if I can lol.
Thanks
Edit: Perhaps I should change this to;
What are the best development tools for MySQL/PHP?
I need a graphical ERD design tool that can forward engineer, Web Manager for MySQL remote managment and of course a WAMP package.
