Using Orange dell 3g Option GX301 modem on Asus EEE Linux

Is this possible?

Looking for an adapter for the modem to USB to enable using the modem on the Asus Netbook, otherwise, are there any unlocked modems that would work if I was to just swap the simcard over, maybe using my old 3G mobile with the modem simcard as this has worked as a modem with the phone connection in the past?

Got mixed views from a google search.
