    I used this to get myself going...is for Ubuntu but should be pretty universal.

    Also get phpLDAPAdmin installed and that will make things easier (slightly) to admin. Its not perfect and you'll have to make custom templates for some things (especially if you have the Samba schemas installed).

    Are you trying to create nested groups or aliases? I think OpenLDAP has some limitations in that area.

    Don't know of any Dummies websites..there are mailing lists so you could try those.

    Are there any OpenLDAP gurus on the forum?

    I am trying to build a schema that has users, roles, organisations etc. I've read the OpenLDAP howto, and various books from Amazon, but am stuck on the basics of creating a "Roles" group, listing Roles within that group, and then applying those roles to users.

    I am using Jxplorer as my GUI, as I'm not overly comfortable working with the CLI.

    Any suggestions, or pointers to a real OpenLDAP for Dummies type of website would be much appreciated.
