All sorted. V painless. Lots of room on internal storage for more apps again

Finally got the update. Had to make sure 3G was switched on as well as WiFi before it showed up as being available.
Since I rooted the phone I had to jump through some hoops before ClockwordMod Recovery was able to see the 1.22 update and install it - rename the downloaded file from Orange as update.zip and manually install it. On a reboot the 2.2 update was downloaded and is currently installing.
Edit: All worked perfectly, happy days.Last edited by Cliphead; 1 October 2010, 18:46.

Not sure how easy it is to do, but you have 2 choices.Originally posted by administrator View PostStill not got it
Is it easy?
What are the risks?
Any guides online?

1. Root it (As clippy has tried) and hope for the best.
2. Call up Orange and ask for an unlock key for a fee. Orange may be able to advise you how to obtain HTC version of the update, but I haven't tried it.

I unlocked it, rooted etc. The various 2.2 ROMs I tried were all flaky in some way so I gave up and reverted to the stock ROM. Not difficult to do and everything can be backed up.Originally posted by administrator View PostStill not got it
