That guy was a dick for putting up with it for a year. You give 'em one, at most two, opportunities to sort the problem then it's full cash refund plus costs and expenses or see you in court.

I bought an Acer Travelmate 5400 this time last year and the screen developed a fault after about 2 months which Acer (or more accurately the company who perform their support in the uk) failed to fix the first 3 times it was sent back to base. Their customer services are shoddy as is the work of their engineers.
Sold it on ebay when it finally got fixed (failed to mention the 'gypsy curse' which came with the laptop in the auction, had no complaints about it though
)and now have a lovely Thinkpad T43 which was twice the price but worth every penny
I'll never buy Acer again. Like this guy:

Acer - good value for features
Wifey has a 24xx series at home over wifi, seems good value for the money and has plenty of features too. The screens are a good usable size also, and as an addedd benefit we got a free 3G (vodafone / payg) card as we'd spent over 100 quid before xmas at comet but I think the offer is still running.

Was looking at one of these down Tot Ct Rd the other week, seemed quite decent, not too big/small, reasonable spec/good price etc.
Don't quite understand the difference in model numbers though, the 321x/322x/33xx all seem to be identical except for minor diff's in HD/RAM.
Still considering this as a replacement...but I prefer to wait and see what Milans bought before I make up my mind.

Anybody out there got one of these machines..or one of its similar models (3204, 3222, 3211 etc..) I'm thinking of buying one. It seems quite decent and lot less than a similarily equiped HP, IBM or Toshiba.
