    qtparted worked very well when I used it some years ago. I tried
    "sudo apt-get install gparted" this week but it was not so good. In fact it trashed the XP partition when I changed the size. I did manage to revover it using my XP Super boot disk.

    agree with most of that

    apt should be available in Debian derivatives, such a Ubuntu.

    EditEdit: still use the command line from above though, should work.
    This will ony work if you've installed Knoppix to your hard drive which I don't think many people do as its primarily a live CD making it a bit difficult to install anything Also I don't believe that Knoppix is Debian based which means that apt won't be available but it is still possible to install applications by booting Knoppinx from CD and then using something like toram to load it into RAM and then using klik to install gparted to a USB drive or burn to a CD.
