It can, you have to have the structure correct, it also depends on the formulae you use, and how you are populating the data, having said that anything more than 2000 rows will heavily impact on performance, but as it's a tool for highly aggregated data, you should be looking to either a different reporting method or drill down from the dashboard to a detailed report to get more data.

agreed, watch this product as i guess SAP will chuck money at it.

the advantage of the swf is that the administrator can run the report against
the core database, generate a swf file and post to sharepoint, without having to set up any users on the core database.

I consult in Xcelsius and it can be successfully deployed in an enterprise with data connections to SQl Server etc, all you need is the back end SAP BOE infrastructure.

If you've a specific problem PM me.

I believe the Analysis Factory produced the sample templates for Xcelsius, not that anyone uses them

Thanks Aloha. Yep, I've used it over three days. Stuck it on my CV for what it's worth. It produces really neat SWF files. But! To get it to work you are reliant on Excel and some kludgy ways of working. If they had something like it which worked off the SQL Directly and could use dimensions properly then it would be a real tool of choice.

    It aint Enterprise :-(

Has anyone used the dashboarding tool Crystal Xcelsius in a production environment? Been using it for the last few days, but it's quite kludgy and I was wondering if it would scale if I was to automate some the back end.

    Anyone used it?

For those of you who haven't seen it, it's this. It aint Crystal Reports btw. http://www.analysisfactory.com/gallery.html
