    iWeb can output to a file if you want to spent £0.

    It can't edit HTML though so it's a bit of a faff using it with an existing site...

    I found RapidWeaver OK for static stuff. The demo version is limited to something like 3 pages but gives you the chance to see if you like it first (I didn't bite as I wanted something more complex at the time).

    Avoid Nvu - it might be free but it crashed too often here.

    Anyone recommend a (preferably free) web design software for Mac?

    I told my dad i'd take over weekly updating his website with new furniture he has for sale (as the site editor was charging him an arm and a leg) dont want to go to the expense of dreamweaver!
