My laptop locks up on boot. A boot log shows the last file to load is
mrxsmb20.sys
Notably the SMB 2 redirector thingy. I notice that during boot it is when the network chirrups into life that the lockup occurs.
It works fine in safe mode. I'm wondering if I've caught me a rootkit. The thing is none of the rootkit oojamaflips seem to work in safe mode, and some of the free ones are just a bit rubbish.
Can someone give me a steer on how to fix this problem?
I have to run windows flavours before anyone gets cute, but I also have various Linux boxes dotted about.
It was the SSDP service causing the system crash. Why I have no idea.
