I`ve used netweaver myself for many years. £35 a year for hosting + £8 for a .com address. They were troublesome at first (their servers got hacked a few times and didn`t have backups themselves) but not had an issue for years now.

problem with using the ISP's "free" webhosting is that if he changes ISP then he'll loose that webspace and have the same problem again

Well if you use your ISP's "free" hosting you are paying for it as part of your monthly package, whether you use it or not.

If you are not prepared to pay small amount to get your content hosted then it's not worth being shown to the public.

    Any recommendations out there?
I thought most ISP's give you some free hosting?

I know Virgin Media does, but have no idea what they offer as free to their customers?

I have been using geocities for last few years to host a couple of small single page web sites for my businesses that punters can see my range of services and get my contact details from and send me an email etc.

With geocities demise I am looking for a low-cost no frills web hosting service with some ability to scale up and do more than just present a page should I need to.
