    Had similar issues myself including with manual updates, I left it for a good 45 mins before it updated.

    I have been driven to distraction by mine locking up the machine for 2/3 minutes at a time. I now have it so it pops up a green "I need an update" box instead of the red "Did you think your PC had crashed while I was buggering about updating myself? Bwa-ha-ha-ha. I own you and all your little clock cycles" box.

    Doing a manual update only takes seconds. (Just did one to test, yep, seconds.)
