If .co.uk, .com, .net were all taken and you had to choose between www.company.biz and www.CompanyLtd.co.uk which one would you go for ?

It took more than 76 days for the domain I wanted to finally come available.

I just checked once a week and then nipped in and bought it. If it's really important to you then I suppose one of the domain buying companies might be worth it. I was not prepared to pay their charges though.

It's worth checking what google or http://www.archive.org/ has for that domain name. If it has previously been used for malware/porn you may have trouble with net nanny software blocking potential users from it.

Just register with Snapnames and place a bid for it, they'll sort out all the acquiring as soon as it lapses. Done it myself for a couple of names i wanted.

AFAIK there is a certain level of protection against cyber-squatting, for example if microsoft somehow let their domain name expire you couldn't suddenly buy that up as there is an abvious reason for that. But if its just a non-descript domain name I cant see why not

A domain name expires tomorrow

..which I am interested in. The owners seem to be using another website, so there is a good chance that they will not bother renewing this one !

If they do not renew it tomorrow, can I buy it straight away or there is normally some sort of a grace period before it becomes available ?
