I dont have MSDN but they airmailed me a 2 DVD copy of Beta 2 plus other software... plus a Partner Resource DVD for VS 2003, and SQL Server 2005 CTP....
Im on their beta programs for the above but if you check their website youll often find you can request copies to be sent, normally free of charge, and they arrive by airmail from the US about 10 days later.

"You can get the Community Preview of both SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 from MS for Free."
Isn't the Community [Technical] Preview just another name for the Beta 2 release, and therefore still only available to MSDN subscribers?
There are apparently going to be 90/180 full trials via DVD in mid/late December so if you can wait that long its another option. How long the trial lasts I guess depends on <cough>how you install it</cough>.

You can get the Community Preview of both SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 from MS for Free.
Also worth getting is the Partner Resource DVD for Visual Studio 2003.
Id recommend joining the Beta programs for MS products such as Visual Studio. The Beta 2 release of Visual Studio was shipped to me for free, by airmail, with a DVD of sampleapplications and training resources etc...
As for full versions...
