Transferring contacts from old mobile to new

Thanks folks! the 'Switch' application worked perfectly and sent all contacts over via bluetooth in one hit.

One option is to use a web service like http://zyb.com (which supports both those phones). It downloads some kind of app to the phone which allows you to back up your contacts to the website, and then copy them to the new phone. Plus you have your contacts backed up. No cables required.

Obviously, if both phones have bluetooth then you can just copy from one to the other directly! (Probably)

You should be able to hook it up to PC Suite over bluetooth, assuming the machine running PCSuite has bluetooth? A laptop perhaps?

Failing that, the cable connector for the USB is on the bottom, the difficulty being it needs a special cable

I think I may have one knocking around from when I had a 6230 - you can have it if you want (PM me you details and I'll stick it in the post) or failing that should be on ebay for a few quid.

does the 5800 have the phone switch app? run it and see it it works with your old phone and job done. Otherwise get pen and large sheet of paper

Cookies for any phone wizard who can tell me how I can get my contacts transferred over from my old Nokia 6233 phone to my new Nokia 5800 Xpress short of copying them all down to a bit of paper and typing them in from scratch - old sim works fine in new phone but no contacts appear.

I've tried putting the sim back in the old phone and making sure that all the contacts in the phone memory were copied to the sim memory.

Downloading the Nokia PC Suite for the old phone but cant actually see anywhere on the 6223 to plug in a usb connector.

Activated the bluetooth on both phones and 'paired them' hoping for the best.
