Theres an article on it in this months PC Format (i think, read it somewhere anyway) where a provider is currently testing it in a bit of London to try and match the speeds that Virgin can now provide. They said its a limited trial though so assume its not readily do-able as that was the first i'd heard of it. If it were that easy, it'd be all over the shop surely?

Bonded ADSL.

Mornning Folks,

Anyone have any experience with Bonded ADSL?

I have a customer who is a bit "out in the sticks" and has a fair few PC's. He can get 2Mb from his normal ADSL but needs a bit faster, so I was looking at bonding 2 ADSL lines.

Some good reviews etc of how to set up a nice router (to avoid the expensive Cisco quit the providers seem to want to levy). Especially here.

Just wondered if anybody else had done it?

Also, do you have to get "bonded ADSL" from your provider, or can you just get two lines and "bond" it your end? Or do they do something special at their end too? (If you just do it at your end, presumably you are then just load balancing between the two lines by the router; whereas they can bond at their end?).

Any thoughts appreciated!
