My new shredder came today - and it's NICE !

more substantial, easier to empty, quieter, and faster.

    Thanks Guys.

    I've ordered a Swordfish 1000XC.

    It got
    - a 2 year guarantee,
    - a "Best Buy" award from Which in May,
    - and its NOT made by Fellowes.

I bought mine from Rymans. http://www.ryman.co.uk/Ryman-MS1500-1227036162.asp.

It depends what you are looking for in a shredder... I went for functionality (as outlined in the description) and stoopid proofing (i.e. stop me from shredding too many sheets and tell me when the bin is full).

Lild's were doing one for £15 about 4 weeks ago. Your local one might still have some in stock. The missus & I have bunged loads through it this past few weeks and it hasn't caught fire or even chopped our fingers off. Yet.
