Have you since tried disabling the thingy whilst creating new policies?

Could it be that after you have created a policy with it enabled (by default) it's impossible to disable it?

Hmmmm they solve the problem. Except that the BMR check box is also greyed out.

you need to de-selelct collect Disaster recovery information for Bare Metal Restore .

by default this option is selected when you create a policy.
    https://forums.symantec.com/syment/b...ssage.id=41788

This problem occurs because NetBackup does not allow both Bare Metal Restore (BMR) and Encryption to be enabled in the same policy.

In NetBackup 6.5, BMR is enabled by Standard Client, Enterprise Client and Starter Pack licenses and is no longer a separately licensed feature. Encryption is also enabled by these keys. As a result, BMR will normally be enabled in new policies by default, causing "Encryption" to be greyed out.

    Any use?

started a topic Netbackup 6.5 Encryption

    Netbackup 6.5 Encryption

I need to encrypt some backups, obvioulsy. On netbackup 5.1 I had to enable encryption on both the client and policy settings. However, using 6.5 the encryption option within the policy setting is greyed out. These are standard Windows backups.

    Any help?
