Perfect, ordered - thanks.
Gone up a quid though.

Think I've found a reader - "Sandisk MobileMate SD Memory card Reader".

I think you need new hardware if your existing hardware doesn't recognise SDHC.

Card reader for high capacity flash memory?
This whole SDHC/high capacity thing seems a bit of a mess.
I have 2 high capacity cards, an 8Gb Micro SD and an 8Gb SD and am having 'issues' trying to populate them.
My desktop PC has a built-in card reader. It refuses to recognise either card (the micro SD is plugged in using a micro to full-size SD adapter).
I have access to 3 different laptops with built-in SD card readers. I get the same result for both cards on two of them (both Dell) but it works on the third, which is the newest.
Using a standalone USB card reader I can access the micro SD (via adapter). The full size SD is recognised but the PC locks up when I try to write to it.
I can access the micro SD successfully using a USB adapter so that's not too much of an issue. I can also access the full sized SD by plugging it into my Archos 605 (see thread above) but I really need a portable card reader that will work with the full sized card. Anyone using one successfully with SDHC cards?
Incidentally does anyone know if this is an issue with the card reader hardware not supporting SDHC or can it be cured (in theory) by an updated driver?Tags: None
