Press CTRL + ALT + S
Click Edit

A pop up box will appear:

Select your account on the left hand side of the pane
Uncheck receive mail items on the right hand side of the pane.

Or if you want to be really flash:

Click Account Properties
Select Advanced
Check Leave a copy of messages on the server

This way you can send and receive with Outlook and still have your messages available in gmail.

Does anybody know how to set up outlook 07 to send only & not recieve.

Reason I ask is that I want to send from outlook with a complex signature.

but receive in my gmail inbox

i have notice send/receive in outlook empties your inbox in the gmail account.

Set Outlook to use SMTP account instead of Exchange Server. Configure SMTP server only dont configure POP3.
