Used Cisco kit

Cheers. I had another look at eBay & initially decided to buy the kit in separates. But after pricing up what it would cost, I decided to buy a complete kit for similar money (plus all cables included, etc).

Did you get the CCNA single exam book? If you want to do it from the beginning you can start on the Intro then do ICND.

I think its this one, to be honest I bought quite a few books at the time in an effort to expand my knowledge but since my daughter was born I haven’t given it much of a chance, I don't recall it mentioning ICND but after a quick google that looks like the path I should take.

Edit: The Cisco site says ICND 'retired Nov 2007' I need to spend a bit of time planning what to do.

Update: CCENT looks like the place to start, it may be a bit simple but at least I'll have grounding for what to expect if I follow the official Cisco path.

I think Ebay is probably your best bet as lots of people tend to sell off their 'home training lab' as a whole package.

Would a virtual application be suitable?

I am using Dynamips\Dynagen to simulate Cisco routers etc. Only draw back you need copies of genuine cisco IOS, and a stack of memory.

I am running 10 routers on a laptop with 1.5GB RAM.

Any sites\companies, apart from eBay, where this kit is available at low cost? Any forums that have a for sale area??
