I use a samsonite backpack.
Doesnt look like a laptop bag. Carries enough clothing for a weekend too.

Seconded - they are brilliant quality.Originally posted by Sockpuppet View PostCrumpler. Expensive but my laptop is well protected. Simple things like you have to take the bag off to open it means no pick pockets etc.

Yep, I am a fan of tech Air but couldn't find one that handled 17inch MacBook Pro so opted for Pakuma...Originally posted by chef View Postgot my tech air bag a few years ago, will not be getting anything else from now on, its great as it has air cushioning all around it so all those knocks on the tube barriers and tube doorways dont do a thing to it. also, lots of space for all my gadgets inside..
highly recommended

WHS - I've got a couple and found them very good.Originally posted by Ardesco View PostI've found Pakuma bags to be sturdy and reliable with the added advantage of not really looking like they hold a laptop. Always useful when wandering around areas where people would prolly have a go if they thought you were carrying a lappy.

Swiss Gear (the guys who make the knives) do some good ones.
WH Smiths sell a couple and they can be had for a steal when they have a sale on.

I got rid of the targus one I had as a permie. Was too big for the laptop I had and I thought it was too heavy for what it was.
Maybe I'm a little self conscious, but I always felt untidy with a backpack whenever I was dressed in a suit, so I went back to the conventional over the shoulder jobbie.
