    Have you looked at Paint Shop Pro? That's probably the biggest competitor to PS and costs about £100 IIRC.

    another paint.net fan here, great tool and always being updated. Doesn't have the fotoshop complexity....bonus

    Bring out the gimp indeed...

    I found gimp a bit complicated for just basic imaging...but then didn't take the time to really try to understand it.

    Irfanview is what I've used for simple image clipping / re-scaling etc.

    But I believe gimp is photoshop's freebie equivelant

    Have a look at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ and select Photoshop from the drop-down box. CS3 is the latest version.

    There's little value in going for a BitTorrent "discount" as Adobe have trapped the popular keygen utilities and invalidated the serial numbers that are generated.
