I've been using eFax and as far as know it's free to receive faxes for an unlimited time provided you use their downloaded software.

For free sending of simple documents try http://www.tpc.int/faxbyemail.html

Currently on a free months trial with efax and deciding whether to keep it going.

You can send and receive via email with a variety of formats and no client software is required.

Costs about £7 / month for the receive service and a few pence per page to send. There are no adverts and you get a local phone number (rather than a rip-off 0870/0871 number) as your fax number. And of course, no requirement for "regular use or they cut you off".

Have a look also at http://www.faxtastic.co.uk. Great for inbound fax to email and free no ads - I use this extensively to scan all sorts of stuff through the office fax machine and store on my gmail. They also have an outbound email to fax service which they charge for, have not tried that yet though.

    Red Telecom

Signed up with http://www.redtelecom.co.uk a few months ago.

Haven't had many faxes but the few interactions I have had with customer svcs have been well handled.

Only charge £10 p.a. which is considerably cheaper than other providers I looked at.

I wasn't aware fax svcs added an advertising cover page so couldn't answer this for you - If you do contact them, perhaps you could update this thread to advise if they do.

    Internet Fax

Has anyone found a decent reliable online fax to email service that doesn't add a page promoting their service?

Working...
