    I may get the 2TB when it arrives as I have a rackable 1TB but it is quite noisy...

    I haven't used this particular range of products but on a general note, I've found Western Digital to be one of the most reliable HD manufacturers on the market. I've procurred some of their 400Gb desktop external HDs in the past and the on-board back-up software is quite comprehensive and easy to use.
