AFAIK not possible - the "bookmark" in URL is only valid for HTML documents - .doc's will be handles by "helper" apps, ie WinWord which be passed on content of the retrieved file and would not know anything about #bookmark.

If you want to publish something on the web then use HTML.

Does anyone know of a way to create a hyperlink straight into a bookmark within a Word document?

I need to create a hyperlink on a webpage such as:

When I try this, the page opens up mydoc.doc but does not go into the bookmark, it goes to the top of the page.

Can anyone help please? I'm using Internet Explorer 6 and Word 97.

    Thanks, Alex
