    16ms ?

presumable 16ms rise time ? need to be careful - some vendors quote response area as rise and fall some response time as just rise - I am not aware of anything that does 16ms rise and fall.

Remember that most very few companies actually make the raw screens, they buy in the screen and fit their own case/connector/speakers, etc
look at contrast and brightness as well and see if you can get quality info - some manufacturers have different standards about num, bers and location of dead or live pixels.

Acer have 15ms rise, 10ms fall
Teco quote 20ms for the 766, 25 for the 970
    Samsung say < 25ms
    17" fujitsu = 40ms

benq do an 18" 1280x1024 but response time is 50ms (30 rise 20 fall)

    lcd

eek is correct about the resolutions. I use a 19" Nokia crt which does 1600x1200 (although I use it in 1200x1024)

however this is a sample of what my supplier lists

    tft monitors:
    samsung
    18" 181T 1280x1024 list £521 trade £434
they also list a 19" 191T 1280x1024list 525 trade 450 but I cannot see any stock so it might be new or discontinued.

    Fujitsu
    17" TL775 LCD list 488 trade 275
    20" 5110FA 1600x1200 List 1125 trade 825

    Teco/Relisys
    TL970 19" 1280x1024 list 599 trade 405
    TL965 19" 1280x1024 list 575 trade 395
    TL766 17" 1280x1024 list 340 trade 280 in black or 10 cheaper for ivory

    Acer
    19" AL922 1280x1024 list 475 trade 460

    +vat / delivery etc

you would have to look up the specs online to see what inputs (analogue / dvi/etc), sound / mic / usb hub etc they come with

    Re: well

18" won't make any difference with LCD screens the resolution of 17-19" screens are all 1280 by 1024. You'll need to find a laptop screen or go up to 20" or above to get anything bigger resolution wise (pixel wise a 19" merely has bigger pixels compared to a 17").
