Probably too late but here is a bigger list of features in XP Pro but not XP Home:
Remote desktop
multi-processor support
ASR (Automated system recovery)
Dynamic disk support & Logical disk manager
IIS / Personal web server
EFS (Encrypted file system)
File level access control & Group Policy Objects
AD Domain membership
RIS & Sysprep
IPSec
SNMP
Offline files and folders
Roaming profiles
Multiple language installations
Bottom line - if you need network capability, or need a decent level of security, get XP Pro.

XP Pro also has IIS on it while home doesn't (though there are ways of hacking this - allegedly).

I did have a look last year when I bought my laptop (Dell offered XP Professional at a premium) and I think the differences between the 2 are in the follogin area:
- user and group management (more capabilities with XP Pro)
- remote access to your PC- easier with XP Pro
- XP Pro can work with multi-processor PC, XP Home can't
- XP Pro has got something called "Automatic Software Repair" I think, which can scan and repair problems without you doing anything
When I bought, I did get XP Pro but, to be honest, I am not sure it is worth it (for me).
If you Google, you'll see plenty of helpful sites comparing the 2....
Good luck
