XP SP2 which obviously I decline

Why?? - I just rolled out SP2 to 3000 clients across Europe with out issue - or are you tainted with the "IBM" internet hype.

Better to have SP2 than not

    This might work:

    Control panel,

    System.

    Auto Updates tab.

There's an option to turn it off completely.

But there's also an option to disable this option (as that is how my work computer is set up). God know how you turn that off.

    Switching off XP automatic updates

Easy question for someone used to XP Pro. How do you stop the automatic updates icon from loading? Its trying to load XP SP2 which obviously I decline but I'm worried someone else in my family will just click the accept button and SP2 will be a disaster for my apps.
