    Have you tried cleaning it?

I've just replaced the toner in mine and had to clean it.

So I took the manual off the shelf, blew off 5 years of dust and when I found the right page it was a trivial fix

    HP Laserjet problems

I've got an HP Lajerjet 2100M here (Postscript model), which I haven't used for a few months.

I have just tried printing to it and it's giving me smudged copies. The main printout is repeated in a faint echo about a third of the page further down, so I am thinking that toner is getting left on the rollers.

It's definitely not a print driver problem, as this happens on the test page too.

Anyone got any experience of this? Is it a simple cleaning problem or do I have to take more drastic steps, like shell out for a service?

Working...
